Mother's Log February 2015

Feb 4
We are replacing the windows in our house. All 46 of them!  Very exciting (and expensive) stuff.  This morning as I was taking the girls to school, they installed the small window next to our side door, which is the one we use the most.  When I came back home, I saw Kassi standing in the window, blowing on it and then rubbing it with her fingers.  We can't waist any time breaking the new windows in, right?

Crazy Day!  I dropped half my kids at school and the other half at a friend's.  Then I went back to the school and helped decorate for my daughter's sixth grade dance.  Then I chaperoned the dance--Sami was soooo cute!  It was a 50's Dance.  Loved all the poodle skirts!  Then I went to pick up my kids from the friend's and took Emmy back to the school for Kindergarten.  Then, Kassi in tote for the rest of the day, I helped clean up from the dance and made a brief appearance at Sami's Valentine Party.  Then I went to grab a quick lunch.  I was starving!  And I went back to the school to help with Emmy's Valentine Party. Once that was wrapping up, I went to Ally's party to say hi and get a few pics of Ally.  Then school was out and we all headed home.  By 2pm I was exhausted!  I put Kassi down for a nap and took a nap myself.  Pregnancy is such a drainer.  I miss my energy.

We taught Bell to ring jingle bells on the back door knob when she needs to go out.  This has been wonderful for helping with less accidents in the house.  But, with all the nice weather we've been having, the girls like to go out and ride bikes around our circular driveway.  Bell wants to join them so badly but can't because she thinks fast moving items are chew toys and tries to attack the girls while they are trying to balance.  It's made for several skinned knees and booboos.  So whenever the girls are outside, Bell has to be inside and I hear bells ringing at the back door constantly... that is until I put Bell in her crate.  Then I just hear whining and barking.  Poor puppy.  Life's so tough when you're not allowed to play.
two hours later:  haha!  Kassi just started ringing the bells at the back door and calling, "Let. Me! Oouut."  She is such a nut!  She has also adopted a chair from the tea table as her perfect stool.  She can maneuver it easily and reach every light switch in the house with it.  Our lights have been going insane.  :)

Driving to a family dinner and the girls are playing a game where they give Jeremy a point for every car he passes on the freeway. The car sounds like this:

Ally:  45...
Emmy:  DAD!  YOU HAVE 45 POINTS!
Ally:  46...
Emmy:  DAD!  YOU HAVE 46 POINTS!
Ally:  47...
Emmy:  DAD!  YOU HAVE 47 POINTS!

It's been going like this since 10...

Other great 5-year-old comments today:
"It's raining and snowing at the same time?  What is God thinking? "
"There's a 't' on that building.  That means it's a church!"

91... DAD!  YOU HAVE 91!!

Later:  On our way home now... Kassi didn't ask for her binki this time and she has been unusually chatty the whole way.  She drew on the window and said "Look it's a booty!"  She sang a song about the stars and the moon and hot dogs.  She spent some time just vocalizing loud noises.  She yelled clap, clap while clapping her hands.  This is a completely different child when there is not a binki in the mouth.

When Sami was little, she would say "Oochy Goochy Please!" whenever she really wanted something.   And when we lived in the traffic of Northern California, we would yell "Oochy Goochy PLEEEASE!" at the red lights to turn them green faster. Sami passed the tradition down to Ally who shared it with Emmy and just now I heard Kassi yell "Ooky Peas!" at the red light.  LOVE IT!!

Emmy has been singing the whole way home too.  Ally told Kassi she couldn't hear Kassi's song because she was listening to Emmy's pretty song and Kassi started yelling "Emmy Stop!"  I told Kassi to be nice and she said "I want my binki."
