Ready for School

This morning, as Jeremy was walking out the door, I was telling him to have a good day and drive safe and then Emmy said,
"Be careful Daddy, don't run!"
Then, while I was getting Ally ready for preschool, Emmy got herself dressed (in her sister's tights and pajama shirt--both inside out).  Then she put on her boots, hat, and backpack and announced she was ready to go!!

Drumroll Please....

Baby #4 is a........

GIRL!!!!

We had the ultrasound yesterday and the baby is very healthy and developing well.  She was all curled up in a ball, sucking on her right hand, and laying sideways so we weren't able to get a good picture of all of her.  But she is there and looking good and yes,
SHE'S A GIRL!
Poor Jeremy is just stuck with a houseful of femininity.  :)

Valentines

 Dinner
Emmy went to her very first Valentine Exchange this year!  We exchanged valentines at Music Makers (a kind of co-op preschool we do once a week with some friends).  Ally had her preschool Valentine party last week and Sami had hers on Valentine's Day and I think Emmy was feeling a little left out.  After the exchange, I found her hiding in another room of the house, digging into her bag excitedly and exploring all her valentines.
Sami and Ally made valentines for everyone in the family this year!  Even the baby!

Halfway to THREE!

Emmy turned 2 1/2 last week!  She's getting to be such a big girl.  She has really turned into a good helper for me...when she's not in her "creative" mode.  (Note picture)  Some funny things she is doing these days:

--her current favorite phrase is "Oh Dear..."
--when asked to do something she wants to do, she says, "Ah Course!"
--when asked to do something she doesn't want to do, she says, "No."  After she gets in trouble for saying "no" and is convinced that she needs to do the thing she doesn't want to do she says, rather dejectedly, "Ohhh-Kayyy..."
--she loves to eat meat!  The other night she gobbled up all of her pork so fast that we thought she fed it to the dog!  We commented on how she was a carnivore like a lion and she spent the rest of the meal ROARING at us with a very convincing growl.  Now whenever she eats meat, she roars.
--we have hit the skirt stage again so she spends most of the each day running around in her pettiskirt from Christmas.
--she loves to get ready for church and go to nursery and every time she sees me doing my make up (even on a weekday), she says, "We go to church?" and runs to find a dress.
--Last night at dinner, she spent five minutes trying to convince Sami to trade her cups because she had a sippy cup and Sami had a normal cup.  She doesn't like sippy cups or carseats anymore.  She keeps telling me that she is a "Big Girl" who needs real cups and should ride in a booster seat.
The only problem is that she still doesn't weigh more than 21 lbs...

18 Weeks!

I have been thinking that I felt the baby move since New Years, but I never felt enough movement to be sure.  I felt the baby really move for the first time on Monday, January 30!  Emmy was affectionately pushing on my stomach with her feet and the baby kicked her back!  Sibling "love" begins already...
Jeremy felt the baby move the next day!
Just 10 more days until the ultrasound and we will hopefully find out what we're having!

All For One, and One For All!!

As most of my family members will tell you, I am not a morning person.  Getting out of bed and starting a day is just not my most favorite thing to do.  I am especially not a Monday Morning person!  There is just something about having to come out of the weekend and get back into my regular routine that exhausts me.  I can spend half the day on Monday in my pajamas--doing the dishes, starting the weeks' laundry, taking in the mess from the weekend, and trying to wrap my head around what needs to be done that week.  This is the day that my girls often spend the entire morning in front of the television.
This Monday morning, the movie chosen by Emmy was "Barbie's The Musketeers" (yes, Emmy has hit the Barbie stage).  I wasn't paying much attention to the movie or the girls in front of it, but by the time it was over, I had two little girls galloping around my house in boots, with spoons for swords, yelling, "All for one, and one for all!"  They were even having duals!  They made me laugh and brightened up my dreary Monday.  :)
 The galloping duo:

A Little Jealous Perhaps?

Apparently our puppy, Tux, didn't like the snowman as much as we did.  This is what it looked like by the end of the next day.  He started with the mittens, then he tore out the arms and pulled off the hat.  Next, he unwrapped the scarf.  Finally, he pawed away the face and ate the carrot nose.  Really, do dogs get jealous of snowmen????

Ally was so upset with Tux for wrecking her snowman that, for several days, she ignored him and said she wanted to trade him in for a fish.  :)
