Auntie's Christmas

We have a new tradition that started when we moved to Utah and away from Auntie  :(
Now, at the first of December, we have Auntie's Christmas!!! Auntie and Shawn come to stay for a few days and we celebrate Christmas early.  My girls just love it!

It's beginning to look a lot like...

something....chaos, maybe?

I had a hard time getting into the Christmas Spirit this year.  Maybe it was the late onset of snow.  Maybe it was because I was still feeling worn out from all of us having Strep.  Maybe my house is too cluttered with toys and baby things, making it hard for me to feel motivated to decorate (I actually cried when I opened the boxes of decorations and then I only ended up getting a portion of it all out).  Maybe it was everything combined.  Anyway, whatever the reason, I just wasn't in the mood.  But I went through the actions for my girls.  And the mood finally hit... on December 23.  Ironically enough, Jeremy usually doesn't get in the mood until right before Christmas but he was all energetic about at the first of December.  Maybe we traded places this year...

Putting up the Tree:

The first gift under the tree:
Just needs wrapping!

Counting down the days!
I never got around to getting out the usual countdowns but instead I wrapped 24 of our favorite Christmas books and we unwrapped and read one every day.

Letters to Santa

Holly cookies and wreaths!
It's just not Christmas without them...

The Ward Party
okay, I got a kick out of this year's theme!  It was Christmas Around the World.  The ornaments were made out of fanned atlases!

My Family

Naima was sweet enough to take our family picture for our Christmas card this year.  Of course, we waited until the last day she was here and we all had messy hair (thus the hats) and we weren't dressed in anything that matched (thus the black and white) but we had fun.  I love my family!

The days after--Enjoying four little gals

Adam stayed for a couple days after Thanksgiving.  We spent one day checking out a sad excuse for a "German Market" and perusing City Creek in downtown SLC.  We also stopped by our favorite French Pasty shop and then Adam, Naima, and I went to see the last Twilight.  On Saturday, we went to see "Red Dawn" with Jeremy's family and spent the rest of the day relaxing.  The best part of it all was just being entertained by four little girls.  I think they might have worn out Uncle Adam, though.

Thank you, Naima, for taking so many great pictures while you were here!  We miss you and Adam!  Come back and see us soon.

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Day was spent Baking, Cooking, BBQing, Preparing...

 Snacking, Drinking...
(I couldn't help it, I had to make green jello with pears and marshmallows like my mom always did.  And I introduced Naima to Wassail!)
 Playing...

 Resting...

Enjoying time with each other, and of course EATING!
 Dinner
 Dessert!
Kassi loved her First Thanksgiving!!
