OK. I didn't blog at all in March. Things just got crazy. I was still sick for most of it. We started meeting to talk about next year's play at the school. I traveled twice and I was busy working on the house. Things just got nuts. But here are some things that happened that deserve mentioning:
Sami made SBO!! She was selected as the only sixth grader from her school to be a Student Body Officer in Junior High next year! They select one kid from each elementary school feeding in. Sami was very nervous about applying because she wasn't selected for Student Council last year and took the rejection hard. We encouraged her to try though. You never know if you don't try... but being the mean parents that we are, we made her do the entire process herself. Her application essay was about a time when she encouraged her peers to be nice to a boy who was getting teased and about her service project she ran on her own last Fall. The selection committee said her essay kept floating to the top of the pile! I am so proud of this girl! She worked hard for and deserves this chance.
Jeremy and I took a trip back to the Bay for a few days. He went for work, I went for a break. It was very nice to get away and go back to some of our favorite places in downtown Mountain View and San Fran. I was also able to meet up with my aunt and a good friend I haven't seen in years. It was a good, relaxing trip for the most part. But oh how stressful airports can be! We got stuck in traffic on the way to the airport from San Francisco. It took us almost two hours to get there and we almost missed our flight. Jeremy dropped me at the terminal before returning the rental car hoping that at least one of us would make it home to our girls that night. I made it right as they were starting to board and waited anxiously at the gate determined not to get on alone unless I had to. Miraculously, they took a long time boarding and Jeremy came running up to join me as they were almost finished. Staying stress free while pregnant is so overrated... right?
My little brother, Daniel, got engaged!! He will be the 4th out of the six of us to get married. I'm happy for him! Long engagement though. They aren't getting married until January. As a matter of fact, she's living in Brazil until January...
My four month old puppy went in for her last set of shots and weighed in at 38lbs! The vet said she's about halfway to full grown... Heaven help my kitchen...
I'm back at play writing! We are planning next year's play and I'm writing the script. Not directing this time though... whew! Maybe I will again in a couple years when I won't have a newborn strapped to me.
Spring break took us South again this year. For once it matched up to Jeremy's sister's spring break so we spent it with them. We went to Legoland and the beach and Old Town Dan Diego and just hung out. Fun times! Emmy, Landon, and Ally were inseparable. They made a roly poly metropolis. It was pretty cute.
