Sami takes on double digits!!!!!!

(Yet another blog post that should have been done a month ago....)

It's official. I am old. My first baby is a decade...

Sami is
TEN!!!!

For Sami's birthday this year, she wanted to have a jewelry making lesson and eat ice cream Sammys (she never was much of a fan of cake and frosting--if only all my children could say at age 5 while at a birthday party "No cake, thank you, I've had enough sugar today...").
I invited my very talented friend, Bethany, to teach the girls to make clay jewelry. Sami picked bird necklaces. They formed their birds and then put them in the oven to bake.  I joined in and made a small bird.  I had forgotten how fun it was to work with clay.  My friend, Ange, and I used to spend hours in her bedroom playing with clay.  Good times.  Anway, while the birds baked and cooled, we had Sammys and opened gifts.

Lighting her own candle?

The morning of her birthday, we were ready for her.  I wish I could have gotten a better picture of her when she first walked into the room.  Her face was priceless!!  She got the chair, a bathrobe, and a bunch of dance clothes.  That night, we had Grandpa and Grandma and Aunt Marcy, MO, and Miles over for frosting-less ice cream cake.  just a note, chocolate syrup is not a good writing tool for the top of any cake.  But Sami loved it!!!
As a surprise, I put magic candles on the cake.  Sami had never seen candles that couldn't be blown out before.  It was a laugh!  Even with all the sisters blowing on the cake at once, they couldn't get them blown out!  We ended up submerging them in a glass of water.

Sami's special breakfast.  Uncle Adam would be proud!

 Mmmmmmmm!  Kassi approved

Happy Birthday Baby!!!
I have loved the last 10 years--having you in my life!!!!!
