Uncle Adam

Adam and Naima (my brother and his girlfriend) came from Portland to visit for Thanksgiving.  We had so much fun with the two of them, I didn't want them to leave!  Adam is so cute with his nieces.  And Naima is a sweetheart.  They brought a little gift for each of the girls as a late birthday present.  Emmy got glowing Tinkerbell wings.

We took them up to Park City for a day.  We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, The Bandits, and then walked around, window shopping.  Then we couldn't leave without stopping at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for candied apples!  Naima, being from Germany, had never had one before and it's a family favorite at our house.

 Adam and Naima
Emmy and Ally opted for chocolate covered marshmallows instead of apples.
 Kassi didn't get any...

Just relaxing after a long day...

An Early Thanksgiving/Christmas

Kaydee came up to visit during the first weekend in November and we did an early Thanksgiving and Christmas with Jeremy's whole family at our house... while it snowed two feet outside!  We set up tables in the playroom and actually fit all 36 of us in there!!  Then we did a hot potato like game with gifts for the kids, watched Polar Express, had a little party to celebrate Jeremy's recent promotion, and filled Christmas Stockings for each of the kids.  It was good to have all of us together.
I am never baking another turkey!!  We made two--one baked, one on the BBQ--and though the baked one was good, the BBQed one was incredible!  Jeremy put thick slabs of bacon over the top with citrus and onion inside.  It was so moist and had great flavor.  So I told Jeremy that we will always BBQ our turkey from now on.  I am perfectly happy to pass that off to him!

Emmy's still at it!

I couldn't help myself--I had to take a picture.  I thought it...very artistic of her!

About a month ago, Jeremy took Ally and Emmy with him to get snow tires on the car.  While they were waiting, they went to a gas station for a treat.  Emmy ran and bounced through the store in true Emmy fashion, and then they went to check out.  As Jeremy was paying, he heard a man behind him laughing.  Jeremy turned around to see Emmy reaching for a RedBull!!  Could you imagine?  Have you seen "Over the Hedge" when Hammy gets fed caffeine?   Yeah, Emmy would be out of control.
Yesterday, Emmy really wanted to watch a Barbie Christmas movie and I said no.  It was Sunday.  She didn't like that answer.  I had to sit down with her and explain that we don't watch those kind of movies on Sunday and Sunday's special, etc.  Well, this morning she asked again and was ecstatic when I said yes!  I told her that today is Monday so it's okay.  Really?!  Wow!!  She was so pleased.  And then she said,"My teacher said.."  and putting on a very low and serious voice went on to say something about the days of the week and Thursday verses Sunday.  I couldn't exactly understand what she said but the mock voice made me want to laugh my head off.  Wish you could have been there.  :)

this week's Mess-Maker-Award
WINNER
is...
Yes, Kassi is taking no time in joining her sisters in the mess-making business.  Not only is she covering my entire house with slobber, she has become an expert at grabbing anything on the counter or table.  She especially likes glasses and dumping water or juice all over the table.  One night she did it three times in a row before I even got done cleaning up the first.  How she was reaching them, I don't know!  This morning, she somehow got a hold of a bag of cereal and threw it back and forth until the whole bag was dumped onto the counter and floor.

5 months

And LOVING Life!
She loves food, she loves sisters, she loves sleeping, she loves laughing--especially belly laughing, she loves happy screaming, she loves watching people, she loves reaching for things, she loves putting things in her mouth, she loves her binky, and she loves her mommy and daddy...
ONLY...
She doesn't love the car, she doesn't love loud crowds or loud music, she doesn't love getting handed to anyone but Mommy after sunset, and she doesn't love getting left out.

WE DO LOVE OUR KASSI!!!
