Summer Soak Party!!

We love Summertime!!
It's so laid back and relaxed and full of fun!  okay, the beginning of this summer was not overly relaxed... we had a party every week for three weeks in a row.  The first was a Summer Soak Party I promised to my girls a year ago.  We had about thirty people here and it was insane but fun.  The only bad thing was the weather.  We've had 90 to 100 degrees almost every day this summer--except for the week of our Summer soak party.  That week is was 70 and breezy.  Oh well.  The girls still had a blast and I got off the hook of throwing big birthday parties the rest of the summer.  :)

testimony humor

Emmy gave the lesson for FHE tonight. It was on baptism. Other than the fact that she said you can get baptized at age 5 and then age 2, she did really well. At the end, I encouraged her to bare her testimony. I started her with ''I'd like to bare my testimony'' and then told her to say what she knows.  She continued as follows:

''I know if I eat my food all gone, it is good for me, and I can have ice cream.''

Mom:  (trying really hard not to bust up laughing) Can you share what you know about Jesus?

Emmy: I know Jesus was baptized and He loves me.

*********

Then at bedtime, I asked Emmy what song she wanted me to sing.  Normally I sing songs like ''Wee Willey Winkie'' and ''Goodnight Moon.'' She said she wanted me to sing a new song
about Kassi being happy and Sami being cranky and Daddy being cranky and Mommy being cranky. I told her I didn't want to sing a song about a cranky family so she sang:

''Wee Willey Winkie is cra-a-nky''

We ended up adding a few verses before singing the actual nursery rhyme about Willey being grumpy because his mom made him get into his nightgown.

Picture Day with Ballerinas

Okay, getting three heads of hair, three faces, and three costumes looking beautiful and ready for picture day by 8:30 am on a snowy Saturday in February... not fun!  But worth it.  I LOVE the way these pictures turned out!  And I took the one of Kassi just recently so I could have a set of all my girls.  Aren't they adorable?!

11 down... 1 to go

Kassi is only weeks away from being a year old..... And breaking my heart.  She has decided to ween herself. Why it had to be my last baby who decides to take matters into her own hands, I don't know. She has also decided to try crawling. She still likes to army crawl when she's in a hurry--and she's getting really fast--but when she's not, she will rock on her hands and knees and even move forward a little. She stands next to furniture but just isn't interested in moving her feet. Oh well, she was my latest to get teeth, roll, crawl, and feed herself, she might as well be the latest to walk. The only thing she did earlier than her sisters was decide she didn't need her mommy anymore.

So in case you haven't figured out yet that I am having a really hard time letting Kassi grow up on me, here are some things I feel the need to make a record of:

Raspberries
Growls and grunts
The gravely laugh
Peek a boo on the changing table (where is Kassi's hair?)--yesterday she actually said "peh-boo!"
Cooing when she wakes
Singing in the Bathtub
Singing Hymns in Church
Long Kassi Snuggles
The Kassi hand dance

as good as it gets

Great day!  Got new carpet. Hung with my girls for lunch. Got pedis. Then went out to sushi with hubby, kids and friends to celebrate my birthday.

Here are our newly painted toes on the new carpet!
Kassi's first pedicure!!  She didn't want to show hers to the tablet. Like her sisters she just wants to play with her mom's birthday present....
